EduMates provides equal opportunities for all students. The following questions and answers will give you a better idea of what to expect as a student with a disability.
I have a disability. Can I still study through EduMates?
Yes! EduMates is committed to helping all students achieve their ambitions. We provide assistance throughout the administrative and study processes.
Is there e-tutoring on offer for students with special needs or learning difficulties such as Dyslexia?
Yes! Through EduMates’ innovative cognitive e-tutoring capabilities, all students are able to engage with designated e-tutors to improve their grasp of course concepts and lead to deeper understanding and better performance on testing. Furthermore, EduMates’ built in AI (Artificial Intelligence) capabilities will dialogue with the student using natural language to remediate confusion and help the student identify areas of weakness needing improvement.
I have a visual impairment. How can I access the study material?
EduMates produces study material in alternative formats, including Braille, large print, audio and electronic. We also provide eBooks or electronic copies of prescribed books for students with disabilities through our strategic partnerships with national and international publishers.
If I have a hearing impairment, can I still attend online discussions and e-tutorials?
Yes! Our online interaction is through real-time instant messaging transmission. EduMates further also provides sign language interpretation services in its contact groups.
Will EduMates' admin staff and e-tutors understand me and my disability?
Yes! EduMates regularly provides disability training and awareness programmes to its members of staff.
Is there special help on offer when it comes to assignments and exams?
Yes! If you need to work in different formats, such as Braille or audio, we can transcribe your documentation. For such special requests contact us directly as follows:
